Karen Baum

Karen Baum is a principal in the Financial Accounting & Valuation Practice at Charles River Associates. Karen has a broad spectrum of experience working with PE firms, investment banks and senior executives in complex financial transactions. She has over 20 years of experience driving value at each stage of a transaction from strategic planning and due diligence to structuring, negotiation and execution of M&A/financing transactions. With specialized industry expertise in media, consumer products and healthcare, Ms. Baum has served as a financial expert in a variety of litigation and valuation matters involving damages in IP, royalty, licensing, auditor litigation and earn-out disputes. As a technical SEC advisor for clients engaged in a variety of cross-border registration transactions, she has authored numerous technical SEC, IPO, and entertainment industry finance and accounting courses and has served as a lecturer at the UCLA. Prior to joining CRA, Karen served as director and Entertainment & Media practice leader at TurnPoint Advisors. As an interim executive, she has served in various C-level roles including CEO, COO and CFO of a variety of PE backed entertainment, consumer products, and biotech companies. Ms. Baum is a Certified Public Accountant (California) and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
