BJ Orzechowski

Partner, KPMG LLP - Economic and Valuation Services


BJ Orzechowski is a Partner in KPMG’s Economic and Valuation Services based in Philadelphia.  He serves as the National Leader covering several areas including emerging issues.  In the past he served in a leadership role in KPMG’s National Office advising engagement teams on valuation matters relevant to KPMG audit and non-audit clients.  Mr. Orzechowski has also co-authored various publications and thought leadership papers on emerging valuation issues.

Mr. Orzechowski performs business valuation services for financial and tax reporting purposes.  These appraisals have been completed for mergers and acquisitions, corporate planning, and restructuring initiatives.  He has litigation support experience in both a valuation and forensic accounting capacity dealing with civil and criminal matters.  Mr. Orzechowski’s appraisals have served domestic and international clients in many industries including life sciences, media and entertainment, apparel, retail, logistics and software/technology.

Mr. Orzechowski participates on several committees and contributes to volunteer driven projects undertaken by external organizations. The committees on which he serves address topics such as fair value, business combinations, impairment, and IFRS. BJ is a member of a working group assembled by the Appraisal Foundation covering control premiums and actively participates on various AICPA projects including serving as FinREC’s designated valuation observer.

BJ is influential in the development of the firm’s guidance, policies, and leading practices.  In addition, Mr. Orzechowski is frequently invited to speak on valuation topics for internal and external audiences comprising accounting, finance, valuation and industry professionals.  Mr. Orzechowski holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University.  He is a CPA in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York and is Accredited in Business Valuation.
