Alexa Von Tobel


Alexa von Tobel, is the founder and managing partner of Inspired Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm that focuses on supporting the next wave of exceptional entrepreneurs. Alexa founded Inspired Capital alongside Penny Pritzker, former Secretary of Commerce, and the firm just announced its second fund: $281M to invest across all categories of innovation.

Prior to Inspired Capital, Alexa's entrepreneurial journey started at LearnVest, a financial planning technology company she founded in 2008. After raising nearly $75 million in venture capital, LearnVest was acquired by Northwestern Mutual in 2015 in one of the biggest fintech acquisitions of the decade. Following the acquisition, von Tobel joined the management team of Northwestern Mutual as the company’s first-ever Chief Digital Officer and later assumed the role of Chief Innovation Officer.

Alexa is also the New York Times-Bestselling Author of Financially Fearless and Financially Forward, and the host of Inc. The Founders Project podcast, which features top founders from companies like Slack, Robinhood, and Databricks.
